Regular price $100.00 USD

Detailed Alfred Meakin Staffordshire Fair Winds Platter

The pattern of this wonderful platter was created from original copper engravings depicting historical scenes of Chinese Export to America. The pattern is titled "The Friendship of Salem".

The scenes on the platter feature a Canton Port in 1830, the New York Harbor in 1830, the Wall Street Port in New York and a scene of Canton traders inspecting pots. The Latin words "E. Pluribus Unum" can be seen in the large federal crest in the center scene. The center scene also features American tall ships approaching the Cantonese shore. On the shore, tents, soldiers and foliage can be seen.

This wonderful platter is perfect for a dinner party and serving guests. The platter is equally at home in English Traditional or more Eclectic settings. The reddish brown and antique white colors of this platter allow it to blend wonderfully with autumnal and holiday tables capes.

If you are looking for a more complete dinner set, we are also selling teacups and saucers, a tea/coffee pot, dinner plates, salad plates and fruit bowls in this same pattern. Sold separately on this store.
