Detailed set of 10, 10.5" Alfred Meakin Staffordshire Dinner Plates
The pattern of this wonderful dinner set was created from original copper engravings depicting historical scenes of Chinese Export to America. The pattern is titled "The Friendship of Salem".
The scenes on the plate feature a federal eagle crest, the Canton Port in 1830, New York Harbor in 1830 and the US Delaware ship capturing Le Croyable. The Latin words "E. Pluribus Unum" can be seen at the top of the plate. The center scene features 2 large tall ships. The ship in the foreground features an American flag fluttering in the wind off the bow.
This wonderful dinner plate set is perfect for a dinner party. The set is equally at home in English Traditional or more Eclectic settings. The reddish brown and antique white colors of this plate allow it to blend wonderfully with autumnal and holiday tables capes.
If you are looking for a more complete dinner set, we are also selling teacups and saucers, a tea/coffee pot, salad plates, small bowls and a platter in this same pattern. Sold separately on this store.
