Exquisite Pair of Large Late 19th Century Bogu Period Vase Lamps
A beautiful pair of late 19th century vases that have been converted to lamps. The vases have double turquoise foo dog handles and display a large variety of Chinese luck symbols, including botanical, animal, floral and other nature motifs.
A lovely floral frieze can be seen at the bottom of these lamps. Both lamps have wooden bases. Vibrant canary yellows, light pinks, dark pinks, turquoises and greens can be seen in this pair.
This pair is in the Bogu style. Bogu style porcelain is a type of Chinese porcelain that features a traditional decorative theme that includes art objects, calligraphy, bonsai, jade, and bronzeware. The theme is meant to convey fun and elegance.
A wonderful pair for more traditional or asian-inspired settings. House-ready.
