This Christian McCall features ornaments and holly with red berries sitting inside of a blue and white chinoiserie bowl. McCall is continually trying to achieve sensitivity to shape, form and light as inspired by the Masters of the 18th and 19th centuries, and this painting is a perfect example of his work. One can see the light reflecting off the bowl and ornaments in contrast to the dark surroundings.
