Hand molded and hand painted, each plate features a sculptural relief of bundled white asparagus resting on a bed of leafy greens against a vibrant turquoise ground, framed by a richly textured yellow basketweave border and scalloped edge.

Sourced in Paris, these charming plates celebrate one of France’s most iconic ceramic traditions. Originally designed for serving one of France’s most celebrated seasonal delicacies, they beautifully illustrate the artistry and craftsmanship of French barbotine ceramics. Today, they are equally captivating displayed in a cabinet, arranged as wall décor, or used to create a striking spring or garden inspired tablescape.

The same model of French barbotine asparagus plate was also owned by the legendary horticulturist and tastemaker Bunny Mellon, whose celebrated collection reflected her enduring appreciation for botanical beauty and timeless design.
