Rare mid-century vintage Japanese tea set in an orange and gold-gilded floral pattern with a pewter lined decorative bowl.
This stunning 13 piece vintage tea set is a rare find. Each hand-painted tea cup and saucer features a delicate gold-gilded rim, as well as a rich orange floral pattern with gold outlines. The matching decorative bowl is surrounded by a pewter shell.
This set will serve as a beautiful pop of color in any neutral room and bring elegance to tea-time. House-ready.
The A.C.F mark indicates the set was made in Japan, but painted in Hong Kong. In the 1960s, the porcelain trade reached its peak in Hong Kong. The demand was so great that workshops resorted to importing plain porcelain forms from Japan. By the mid 1980s, porcelain production slowed and this practice became less common.
Bowl is for decorative use only.
